1. What cookies and local storage are

1.1A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your device. Local storage is a similar space in your browser which a site can use to keep information for later visits. Both can be “session” (deleted when you close the browser) or “persistent” (kept until they expire or you delete them), and both can be set by the site you visit (“first-party”) or by someone else (“third-party”).

1.2The UAESY apps for iOS and Android do not use browser cookies. They store the settings you choose on your device and keep your sign-in securely on it; the Privacy Policy describes the device data that the Apps send.

2. What we use and why

2.1Strictly necessary. These are needed for the Service to work and cannot be switched off in our systems. (a) Sign-in cookies (access_token and refresh_token): marked HTTP-only and secure, they keep you signed in and protect your session; the first lasts 15 minutes and is renewed while you are active, and the second lasts up to 30 days. (b) A language cookie that remembers the language you chose. (c) A record that you have seen the cookie notice, so that we do not ask on every visit.

2.2Preferences and functionality. These remember the choices you make so that the app looks and behaves as you left it: for example light or dark theme, whether the sidebar is collapsed, how lists are displayed (list or cards), the filters and years you selected on properties, contracts, payments and expenses, and whether hints such as the getting-started panel are collapsed. They are stored in cookies or in local storage in your browser and, for list views and filters, for up to one year.

2.3Diagnostics and site usage. We do not use third-party analytics cookies. We measure visits on our own servers: when a page is requested we record the address visited, the referring page, the browser type, language and IP address. That is explained in the Privacy Policy. If a page fails we may capture technical error details so that we can fix the fault.

2.4Embedded content. Some pages show maps supplied by Google. When the map loads, Google may set its own cookies or receive your IP address and device information under its own privacy policy. Signing in with Google, Apple or UAE PASS takes you to the provider’s own page, where its cookies apply.

3. What we do not use

UAESY does not use advertising or retargeting cookies, does not sell data collected through cookies, and does not build profiles of you across other websites.

4. Managing cookies

4.1You can block or delete cookies and local storage in your browser settings (look for Privacy, Cookies or Site data), and most browsers let you do this for a single site. If you block strictly necessary cookies, you will not be able to sign in, and some other parts of the web app may not work. If you delete preference cookies or local storage, the app will return to its default settings.

4.2The cookie notice shown on our website records that you have acknowledged it. You can show it again by clearing the site’s cookies.

4.3To control embedded content, use the settings offered by the provider concerned (for example your Google account settings).
